In my opinion this is one of the best trips we have been on so far. My group was the last to arrive as the mini bus was 20 minutes late and to be greeted by Sara, Clare and Shahid outside in full costume, really made up for that. Within ten minutes nearly everyone was dressed up and ready for the tour. Our guide was called Steven and it was his first tour, the student's 'did him proud' by being interested and asking lot's of relevant questions. The only disappointment was that the taxi's were on time for our return journey, we could easily have stayed longer.

Smithills Hall
The group visited Smithills Hall this week
. We set off in a small convoy which consisted of a mini bus and two taxis. The tour guide was very good and we were able to give a donation to the hall, (courtesy of Zara's mum) who had given us some extra money for the trip. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was an assortment of refreshments and souveniers to buy. The only mishap was when Shahid banged his head on a low doorway and the only disappointment was that we hadn't seen any ghosts!!

How do you get to college?
Don't be put off with the strange picture. This is a video of the students demonstrating how they travel to college and everyone had to guess, a really fun activity.

Mayors Parlour
Hi,
A really good morning out for the group when we visited he Mayor's Parlour on the Thursday before the Easter Break. We had tea/coffee or orange juice to drink plus an assortment of M&S biscuits to choose from. This was followed by a tour of the building with plenty of time to ask questions and take photographs. We presented her with a small floral gift, which consisted of a primrose a hyacinth and a daffodil, (it was a little limp by the time it got to her, but the thought was there) plus a thank you card before returning to college.
